Bikram Yoga is a proprietary method of hot Yoga created by Bikram Choudhury, where participants practice in intense heat and humidity.

Priciples

Bikram Yoga is a form of Yoga practiced in intense heat and humidity. This is achieved by heating a room up to 105 oF with a humidity of 40%. This is intended to replicate the climate of India.

This method of yoga consists of a fixed sequence of 26 postures (24 asanas and 2 breathing exercises) and each class is around 90 minutes long.

The founder of Bikram Yoga suggested that Bikram Yoga helps to prepare the body for movement and to remove impurities.

Attire

For bottoms, it is recommended to wear hot yoga pants, as due to the sweating, if wearing shorts, your legs would become too slippery, making it difficult to do certain postures such as the crow. for top, it is best to wear a loose fitting top
